Stuff that you actually might read

DEC.7.2007

So check it out, tonite at Oneighty we read a poem by Amanda C. and you liked it. So if u wanted to read it again, here you go:

As winter dawns and summer leaves
bearing naked autumn's trees
The sun arises, you feel its heat
in the dead of winter's beat

As it snows it grows cold
Fire inside you never grows old
Fire inside you still alive
buring dust and dirt and grime

Burning for God so inside you're clean
unclean marks will be unseen
The fire grows, intensifies
The life once lost be seen in your eyes

God always had a plan for you
Stay on track and just be you
Others try their best to tear you down
God builds you up and drowns their sound

God knows what you're Going through
He feels your pain and so do you
But no matter what in life you find
Keep this message in your mind

No matter what life throws at you
No matter how cold life seems to get
Don't let the fire inside you die
Because you'll die along with it.

Watch Us Burn

NOV.15.2007

As promised, here's a video re-cap of Wildfire Weekend.

Here's What YOU said about Wildfire Weekend:

Oh my gosh is that only the begining!!!! Another thing that I wan't to tell you is that I talked to my Coach and I will not be doing basketball this year....it was hard for me at first because basketball has been like a lifestyle for me and God showed me that..that is not the lifestyle that he wants me in right now......God tols me that I have to be 100% committed to ONEIGHTY...I have to be willing and free at the drop of a hat to go on a missions trip...to be at Oneighty every single Friday...I have to be there to be an example of the WORD OF GOD!!! Even though giving basketball up was hard...I know that not only am I gunna help and Bless and touch others peoples lives...But I am gunna be touch and blessed by obeying God!!
-Phoebe

Wildfire weekend has changed my life for the better! I've been trying to follow God for years now but part of me still held back. What I didn't realize, I was being a hypocrite, I claimed I loved God and was a Christian, but I was only a "part time Christian" you could say. Holding that part of me away from God was like giving part of me to the devil and his temptations. I was hurting, a lot, both physically and mentally, I sought help from everybody but God, and no one could find any answers. Finally after 2 months, I came to God, I desperatly needed his help whether I admitted it or not. November 9th, the first night of fire, when Cliff prayed for me a couple times, I was touched by God. My depression left me. The evil addictions and thoughts of temptations left me. My spirit was hungry for a tight relationship with God and Wildfire weekend gave me just that. I've never been so happy! I've never felt this close to God, and there's no way I'll ever go back to leading a non-Christian lifestyle. I dont want to feel that sort of pain, that depression, that anxiety, that lonesomeness ever again. God's got my back, and I'm living 100% for him. I know it's not going to be easy, it's going to take some work to stay committed to Him but I'm willing to do whatever it takes. Jesus died on the cross for our sins, and I want to live for Him.
